With MacKenzie Blackwood in the fold, the Avalanche are selling hope. But, they also believe that the latest goalie acquisition could be a stable piece that carries this team for longer than just one playoff run.
“I’d be lying if I said we’re acquiring him for four months of hockey,” general manager Chris MacFarland said on Monday, just hours after completing a massive trade with the San Jose Sharks.
