10 Observations: Notable Numbers from Avalanche’s Dominating Win in Pittsburgh (+)

The vibes are immaculate in Avalanche land.

It started with two dominant road wins in two nights over the weekend — the second of which was a shutout for Scott Wedgewood. On Monday, the Avs followed that up by pulling off a trade for another goalie, Mackenzie Blackwood, to completely revamp their goaltending position just two months into the regular season.

And on the very next day, Colorado went into Pittsburgh and beat up on the Penguins, defeating them 6-2 to extend its winning streak to three games. The Avs head back home to meet Blackwood, who’s already in Denver, coming off a season long five-game road trip where they won all but one.

If you’ve read my work or have followed my tweets for long enough, you know that I’m a big numbers guy. Tuesday’s triumph was loaded with notable stats for the 17-13-0 Avalanche.
