Around the NHL
Tampa Bay Lightning: The Bolts loaded up in a whopper of a trade with Seattle. They acquired former Lightning champion Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand from the Seattle Kraken. They paid a huge price for the pair of depth forwards.
Florida Hockey Now: The first trade of the day on Wednesday, the Florida Panthers brought in a new backup goalie after trading Spencer Knight to the Chicago Blackhawks in the Seth Jones deal.
San Jose Hockey Now: The Sharks acquired a defenseman who was at Ball Arena two nights ago with the Pens. He will not be with the Sharks today.
Georgiev opened up to Sheng Peng about his time with the Avalanche. His return tonight should be interesting, especially because he was blunt about how he felt Avs’ management had completely lost trust in him.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pens pulled off two trades, one of which feels like somewhat of a headscratcher at first glance.
Following the announcement of both deals, general manager Kyle Dubas answered questions from local media via email. “We are positioned well,” he said, ahead of Friday’s deadline.
Montreal Hockey Now: The Habs re-signed Jake Evans, taking him off several trade boards. But two other pending UFAs could still be dealt, albeit it’s somewhat of a delicate situation.
Chicago Hockey Now: Should the Blackhawks sell high on Ryan Donato? He’s someone I could see the Avalanche being interested in.
NYI Hockey Now: Evaluating three mock trade proposals from the New Jersey Devils.
New Jersey Hockey Now: Speaking of the Devils, they were dealt a massive blow with the announcement that Jack Hughes is done for the year. Here’s how it affects their trade deadline plans.
Detroit Hockey Now: Detroit placed Christian Fischer on waivers, then called up a rookie to make his debut later tonight.
