The Avalanche lost forward Jonathan Drouin to a lower-body injury on Wednesday.

Drouin hobbled to the bench in pain during the first period of a matchup on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks. He didn’t miss a shift for the rest of the first period but did not return for the second.

The Avs later announced that he was out for the night. It’s unclear if it’s precautionary.

Drouin has missed 32 games this season, recovering from two separate injuries that lasted 16 games, each. He has 11 goals and 37 points in 43 games.
