Stanley Cup Final Recap
Game 5: The Florida Panthers weren’t phased after letting a game slip away. They bounced back in Game 5 and played their most complete game of the series. The Panthers led 3-0 at the second intermission and walked away with a 5-2 victory after scoring a late empty netter. Florida is one game away from repeating as Stanley Cup champs with an opportunity to win it at home on Tuesday.
All I’ve got to say about this game is, man, Brad Marchand is a legend. If it wasn’t already a sure thing, this Stanley Cup Final series is solidifying his place in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Marchand’s two goals on Saturday elevated him to five in the series. He’s the second player in NHL history after Mario Lemieux to reach five goals in two separate Stanley Cup Final series.
