The Avalanche reduced their roster by three more skaters on Friday. Defensemen Hank Kempf, Connor Kelley, and Saige Weinstein were all sent to the AHL’s Colorado Eagles.

Kemp and Kelley both were absent from Friday’s practice because of injuries. Kelley suffered a lower-body injury several skates ago and had to be helped off the ice. He hasn’t skated since.

Kempf’s injury is listed as an upper-body.

The roster now sits at 48 as the Avs prepare for two consecutive home preseason games.

On Friday, the team is hosting a fan fest ahead of their preseason game at Ball Arena, which includes a full-team skills competition and an Alumni autograph session with Andrew Cogliano.
