Avalanche Claim Defenseman Ilya Solovyov Off Waivers
Left-shot defenseman was placed on waivers by Calgary
The Avalanche added a depth defenseman to their roster on Friday, claiming Ilya Solovyov from the Calgary Flames.
Solovyov, 25, is listed at 6’3, 208 lbs and was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 draft by the Calgary Flames.
Last season, Solovyov dressed in just five regular-season games for Calgary. He also played 10 games in the 2023-24 season. Solovyov is a left-shot defenseman, which gives the Avs added depth on that side.
