The Colorado Avalanche open the 2025-26 season on the road against the Los Angeles Kings in the third leg of an ESPN triple header on the first day of the NHL season. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:50 p.m. MT.

- Colorado is starting the new season with a far deeper lineup than it has had in October in recent years. The additions of Brent Burns and Victor Olofsson, as well as the emergence of rookies Zakhar Baradakov and Gavin Brindley, fill out an already impressive lineup.
