The Avalanche are practicing at Ball Arena on Friday following their home opener victory against the Utah Mammoth.

During that skate, which will include the full team, the team will be donning Quebec Nordiques colors.

There have been rumors and speculation circling since the summer that Colorado was planning on using these jerseys at some point during the season. The team is celebrating its 30th anniversary since relocating from Quebec, and this will be one of the ways to enhance the experience for fans.

It’s unclear at this time when they’ll wear them for games, and how many times they’ll be used.

The only other time Colorado has referred back to the Nordiques in any time was during the 2021 reverse retro jerseys, which put a burgundy spin on the look.
