Deen’s Daily: Kiviranta Injured; Avalanche Dominate Again; Patrick Kane Hurt

The Avalanche won again. They did it without one of their depth forwards, who is out for several weeks at least. Also, the Red Wings are thriving, but they’ll have to keep chugging along without another offensive weapon.

Big win for the Avalanche on Saturday. They improved to 5-0-1 on the season after dominating the Boston Bruins and holding them to just 14 shots all night.

Nathan MacKinnon scored twice, Scott Wedgewood was great again, and the Avs are cruising through their October schedule with ease.

They also announced an injury earlier in the day to Joel Kiviranta. Without him in the lineup for the next several weeks, they were able to get Zakhar Bardakov into the lineup finally.

New Jersey Hockey Now: Speaking of the Oilers, the Devils defeated them on Saturday to win their fourth straight game. Wait until you find out how long it’s been since they’ve been able to string a winning streak like that together.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: How Penguins veterans are dealing with healthy scratches this early into the new season.

Florida Hockey Now: The injured, tired, and frustrated Panthers have lost four straight games after a terrible shutout loss to the Buffalo Sabres. I genuinely have no idea why they’re already at seven games.
