Key Stories to Watch
- This is the first of two straight meetings between the cross-conference rivals. Colorado hosts the Devils on Tuesday at Ball Arena to close out their season series.
- The Devils have won seven straight and sit atop the NHL standings in points percentage.
- What started as an eight-game undefeated streak for the Avs is suddenly a three-game slide. Colorado suffered its first regulation loss of the season on Saturday in Boston. This comes after consecutive losses in overtime and the shootout.
- Brock Nelson and Gabe Landeskog continue to struggle with offensive production. Nelson has a goal and an assist in nine games, while Landeskog has two assists. To say the Avalanche need more from both of them is an understatement.
