10 Observations: Blackwood is Thankful His Avalanche Teammates Helped Secure Another Shutout (+)

The Avalanche were already leading by five goals when Brock Nelson was called for tripping with just under 13 minutes remaining in regulation.

On the ensuing Sharks power play, the Avs were all-in on making sure nothing got past starting goalie Mackenzie Blackwood. A goal wouldn’t have changed this game. It was well out of reach. But it still mattered that the usual PK guys did their part right up to the very end.

In one sequence, Josh Manson dove to clear the puck out of the zone, and then Zakhar Bardakov went down to block a shot from just a couple of feet away from the right circle.

Nobody enjoyed that more than Blackwood. He made that clear after the game.
