The Avalanche’s most recent win was one of their most dominant of the season. They routed the St. Louis Blues 6-1, outshooting them 43-13 in the process while scoring a franchise best four goals in the opening 4:39. It was quite the night.

But two injuries have developed around the team. One was Gavin Brindley, who played in the game against the Blues, and the other was Joel Kiviranta, who was a late scratch before puck drop.

Head coach Jared Bednar told reporters at Thursday’s practice that the forwards are both day-to-day and will travel with the team on its three-game East Coast road trip, which starts in Carolina on Saturday. Bednar also said the team might call up an extra forward to take with them.

Brindley suffered an upper-body injury that Bednar described as a tweak. He was seen going into the X-ray room postgame after playing 11:50 on the fourth line.

Kiviranta went hard into the boards the game before — Monday’s 5-2 triumph over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. That led to a lower-body injury which kept him out of warm-ups on Wednesday. Kiviranta was replaced by Zakhar Bardakov, who slotted in on the fourth-line wing.

Kiviranta and Brindley have both been injuried previously during this season.
