The Avalanche are playing in a Winter Classic! The team also has some alumni representing Team Switzerland at the Olympics. Also, fixing the mess in New Jersey, the goaltending in Ottawa, and the Winnipeg Jets’ losing streak continues.

Colorado Hockey Now

An exciting bit of news dropped on Wednesday: Colorado will be the visiting team against the Utah Mammoth in the 2027 Winter Classic.

This is the Avs’ fourth outdoor game, but the first under the Winter Classic moniker. Each of the other three was a Stadium Series game.

Also, Team Switzerland was among the teams to reveal its 2026 Winter Olympics roster. There are several NHL stars on the team, but also three former Avalanche skaters who are all playing in Europe. It’s a nice trip down memory lane.
