New Jersey Hockey Now: Should Sheldon Keefe be fired for the Devils’ recent stretch?
Detroit Hockey Now: It’s 2026, and the Red Wings and Canadiens are prepping for a matchup that could determine who ends the night as No. 1 in the Atlantic Division.
Philly Hockey Now: Breaking down the Christian Dvorak contract extension. Dvorak got a lot of money to play a premium position. Speaking of which, if you heard Jared Bednar’s comments about Nelson, and how current center contracts measure up to his $7.5 million, I would assume that Bednar was pointing at Dvorak (and Alex Wennberg).

The contracts Wennberg and Dvorak signed are bonkers for what they produce and the role they play but we’re going to see more of that with the rising cap.
That’s why I think they should lock up some of these guys like Malinski sooner than later. The market is going to get so inflated
We don’t know Malinski’s mindset on this. If he believes he is top 4 somewhere, he may decide to just to go FA. Avs will want to sign him for term at a 3rd pairing rate. I believe it is 1 of the reasons that Burns gets to QB PP2. Malinski handles the puck and shoots just as well, but his skating would make him the safer play. The problem is he would inflate his scoring too much. It’s always a business in top sports.
