Key Stories to Watch

  • The Avs will try to shake off a 0-1-1 stretch that began with an OT loss vs Toronto and continued with easily their worst home performance of the season vs Nashville. Colorado is 19-1-3 at Ball Arena following that 7-3 loss to the Preds. Against Washington, the Avs face a team that has also lost its last two.
  • This will be the 15th game for Alex Ovechkin at Ball Arena. Will it be his last? Ovechkin has six goals and four assists in 14 games in Denver.
  • While it’s not confirmed, we could see Scott Wedgewood getting his first start since Jan. 8 when the Avalanche defeated Ottawa 8-2. He’ll likely go up against Charlie Lindgren, who gets his 15th start of the season.
