Avs Game Grades: Utter domination

Published

Blues

Well, if anyone was concerned with how the season was going to go after Wednesday’s 4-1 loss, the Avs should have hopefully since quelled them. Utter domination is the only way to describe the Avalanche’s 8-0 thrashing of St. Louis. With power play goal after power play goal, the Avs demonstrated just why they are, in fact, the “favorites”… or whatever.

Pierre-Edouard Bellemare – (B-)

Unfortunately for Bellemare, he was not one of the 11 Avs players who found their names on the scoresheet. It was a pretty quiet game, overall for the fourth line center. There were times where it looked like he was trying to do a little more than what was needed. Yet, he won seven of his 12 faceoffs and set up Calvert for a high chance tip early in the first period.

Andre Burakovsky – (B+)

Burky settled right on in with Kadri and Saad on the second line, tonight. With a goal and an assist, Burakovsky put his deadly wrister to use when he used two Blues and two Avs players to screen his shot on net.
