Why the Avs just keep on rolling

First off, that was a great win for the Avs tonight. One of the best I’ve seen in a while,  all things considering. No No. 1goalie? No top goal scorer? A week off because of Covid precautions?

Not. A. Problem.

This is just a very, very good hockey team, and will be for years to come. Does that mean they will win a Stanley Cup? Nope, it doesn’t. A lot more time in the belly of the beast still to go for that to happen. I’ve covered two NHL championship teams in my career, and believe me when I tell you the hard work for these guys hasn’t even begun yet. The regular season is one thing, and the playoffs are another thing entirely, and nobody on the core of this team has yet to experience that beyond two rounds the last few years.
