KELSEY’S KORNER: My First Experience In Canada

EDMONTON, ALBERTA – To say yesterday was a busy one might be an understatement. 7 a.m. comes really quick after a late night of traveling. I landed about 10:45 p.m. in Calgary, Alberta and I kid you not, the sun was still setting. It wasn’t fully dark yet at 10:45 at night (!!). My mind was blown already and I barely took my first 10 steps into Canada.
Unlike DIA, I thought the Calgary Airport was really easy to navigate and efficient to get through. I grabbed my bag and set off to the hotel I was staying at for the night. Silent car rides make me uncomfortable, so I asked the most important I could think of..what is this Tim Hortons everyone talks about? I thought my taxi driver was going to break his neck with how fast he whipped around to look at me. Turns out, it’s equivalent to a Starbucks. I’m tellin’ ya, I learn something new each day. After my brain buster of a question, my driver knew I wasn’t from around here. We began talking about hockey and he said “That 29 guy is fast.” Yes…yes he is. It’s exciting to see the Avs making their mark across the country.
