Progress: Gabriel Landeskog Joins Avalanche For Morning Skate

Landeskog Avalanche

While Gabriel Landeskog is still a ways off in his return from injury, it was a welcome sight to see him at morning skate.

Not just for the fans, but for his teammates as well.

You could see the smiles from everyone on the ice for the Colorado Avalanche on Monday morning. The Captain, who still looked like a guy who is a ways away from returning, took part in only a few drills. Whenever he took the puck in, you could hear his teammates cheering. He came out about 10 minutes before skate started, and only lasted about 10 minutes into the skate. The few rushes he did take, he was still moving gingerly.

But any progress is progress at this point.

After skate, Head Coach Jared Bednar had an update on Landeskog and where he’s at in his return.

“Slow and steady,” Bednar said on his recovery. “Nothing major to report there. He’ll be working on his own for quite a while.”

With comments like that, I wouldn’t expect to see Landeskog with the team often until he’s closer to returning to the lineup, whenever that is. Still seems like he’s a ways off from getting there.

Take a look at some video from Landeskog this morning with the team. Stay tuned to CHN for another update on the rest of the injured crew, as I’ll have something else up later today on them.
