Since 2016, the Colorado Avalanche have taken part in the Rookie Faceoff tournament the weekend before training camp starts.

This year, they’ll do it again.

On Monday, the Vegas Golden Knights announced the schedule and teams that will be playing in the tournament, and it’s the same six teams that have been involved the last few years – Vegas, Anaheim, San Jose, Arizona, Los Angeles, and the Avalanche.

The rosters won’t be released until closer to the tournament, but you can imagine guys like Oskar Olausson, Sam Malinski, Ondrej Pavel, and others will be there for Colorado. It’s always a fun tournament to watch, and a good way for some of the younger players to stand out before the start of training camp.

Here’s who, when, and where the Avalanche will play in the tournament:

Friday, Sept. 15 – ARI vs. COL, 3:30 p.m. PT, City National Arena (GHOST Energy Rink)

Sunday, Sept. 17 – COL vs. ANA, 1 p.m. PT, City National Arena (Summerlin Hospital Rink)

Monday, Sept. 18 – COL vs. VGK, 3 p.m. PT, City National Arena (Summerlin Hospital Rink)

Broadcast and ticket information will be released at a later date for the tournament. The tournament is typically streamed over the internet for anyone who can’t attend, and I would expect that to happen again. All three of Colorado’s games will take place in Vegas, while a few of the other games in the tournament will be held in Henderson, NV.

Stay tuned to CHN for updates on the tournament as we get closer to the start of the season.
