Evan’s NHL Daily: Makar On NHL 24 Cover? Tatar’s Demands
By the time many of you read this, the NHL 24 cover athlete might already have been revealed, but on Sunday, a leak appeared to hint that it will be a certain star defenseman on the Colorado Avalanche.
Out East, it appears Tomas Tatar, a proven top nine forward out on the market, has spoken to Pittsburgh about joining them, but his demand might be a hold up.
All that and more in this Monday edition of Evan’s Daily.
Colorado Hockey Now
I took a look at two former Avalanche forwards who failed to last in the NHL, but are thriving in the KHL.
NHL Network has Mikko Rantanen in the Top 5 on their list of best wingers in the game, but does he deserve to be even higher than where they put him?
On Monday, the Miles Wood film room and analysis piece should be completed. I’ll admit, I think there’s a lot the Avalanche can work with here.
Makar On NHL 24 Cover?
The NHL 24 cover athlete will be revealed on Monday, and it could be a very familiar face to Avalanche fans.
This picture has been sent to me by several Avalanche fans, but it comes from the EA Sports NHL Discord channel. It sure seems to hint that the next cover athlete for the NHL gaming franchise is good ol’ Cale Makar.
We’ll wait and see if this comes true, but it would be cool for an Avalanche player to land on the cover again.
Around the NHL
Tomas Tatar is still looking for a job, but he’s being patient. The veteran NHL forward spoke to Slovakian media and mentioned he’s talked to Pittsburgh. His goal is to win a Stanley Cup, so he’s waiting to make the right choice.
The salary cap is one reason he’s being forced to wait, but the other? He wants two years, if possible. A lot of teams might not be very interested in that.
