Avalanche Turning Point: Strong Start Erased After One Mistake (+)

Avalanche

This might come as a surprise when you look at the box score of the game, but the Colorado Avalanche did get off to a strong start on Sunday afternoon.

After a tough outing against the Pittsburgh Penguins, they looked focused and in control. The only thing keeping them off the scoresheet were some nice saves by Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. At one point, the shots on net were 5-1 in favor of the Avalanche.

The turnovers that killed them a few days prior looked to be a thing of the past…until they weren’t.

On a single play, the game changed, and the Avalanche lost all the momentum.
