One Reason Jonathan Drouin’s Confidence Is Sky High (+)

Avalanche Drouin

Jonathan Drouin is on a roll right now with the Colorado Avalanche. With 13 points in his last 12 games, he has hit his stride right when the team really needed it, but it’s been his all-around play that has earned him the trust of the coaching staff.

He’s taking advantage of the opportunity to play on the top line next to the likes of Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen, and has every reason to be confident at the moment.

Still, he knows the work isn’t done.

“I think it’s something you want as a player. It’s not something you want to shy away (from),” Drouin said after morning skate on Monday. “You want to be grabbing those top minutes and the tough minutes. It’s always nice to have that confidence from the coach, but I don’t want this to last for a week. I want this to keep going on and even getting better at it.”

Drouin has the confidence of the staff right now, and looks like a more assertive player on the ice. One other reason why he’s feeling good on and off the ice?

For the first time in years, he’s healthy.
