Avalanche vs. Bruins, Game 46: Lines, Starting Goalies & How To Watch

Avalanche Bruins

10 days ago, the Colorado Avalanche and Boston Bruins played a tremendous game that ended in a shootout. On Thursday night, we’ll be treated to a rematch, just in a different location.

Of course, the last time the Avalanche and Bruins met, Colorado had the services of Valeri Nichushkin, who scored the shootout winner. That won’t be the case on Thursday night, so the Avalanche will need some other players to step up. One of those players could be Miles Wood, who returned from an extended absence on Tuesday and scored the game-tying goal in the third period. He did not play the last time these two teams met.

One thing Colorado will need is a better all-around performance from their top line. Jared Bednar admitted he played them too much in Montreal, which is why they lacked energy in Ottawa. A full day off on Wednesday should help with that heading into the game against Boston.

Two players Colorado will not be inserting into their lineup are Artturi Lehkonen and Bowen Byram. While both are skating with the team, neither will play on Thursday. There’s a chance they both play on Saturday in Philadelphia, but it’s more likely they play when the team gets home. That means the Avalanche will run it back with the same lineup they put out against the Senators…except for in net.

Both the Avalanche and the Bruins will turn to their All-Stars in goal. Alexandar Georgiev got the full night off on Tuesday and will start for Colorado, while Jeremy Swayman will go for Boston.

Four out of the last five Boston games have gone to overtime, so prepare for extra time tonight. Luckily, with the game on the East Coast, we won’t be talking about a 10 PM MST finish.
