Avalanche vs. Flyers, Game 47: Lines, Starting Goalies & How To Watch

Avalanche flyers

The Colorado Avalanche and Philadelphia Flyers want you to get on with your day, so they’re starting their game nice on early on Saturday afternoon.

This will mark the second and final matchup between the two teams this season, as the Flyers beat the Avalanche at Ball Arena last month. Ivan Prosvetov started that game for Colorado, but it’s expected to be Alexandar Georgiev in net for the Avalanche on Saturday.

Nathan MacKinnon continues to be one of the hottest players in the NHL, as he’s riding a 10 game point streak at the moment. It’s possible but unlikely that he gets some additional help for this game. Artturi Lehkonen is close to a return, but Jared Bednar has seemed to indicate that a return is more likely on Wednesday night against the Capitals. Lehkonen skated with the team in a blue jersey on Friday, so there’s an outside chance he plays.

Bowen Byram is also unlikely to play, so expect the Avalanche to use the same lineup they have the last few games when they take on the Flyers.

Philadelphia is one of the biggest surprises in the NHL this season. Most expected them to be near the bottom of the league, but they’re currently in second place in the Metro Division and are on a five game winning streak. They are coming off a dominant win over the Dallas Stars, where they outshot Dallas 43-15. Owen Tippett scored a highlight reel goal late in that game, giving him 18 on the season.

Carter Hart is expected to start for the Flyers against the Avalanche.
