Best Bets for Colorado Avalanche vs. Toronto Maple Leafs (2/24/24)
The Colorado Avalanche face off with a team that has been one of the NHL’s hottest as of late in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
And it is a test they will desperately need to pass as they are 4-4-2 in their past 10 games.
Toronto, who own an 8-2-0 record in that same span, has been one of the NHL’s most potent offensive teams recently.
They lead the league in goals-for per game since the start of February with an absurd 4.89.
The Maple Leafs are also among the teams with the most shots on goal in that same span, netting 33.4 per game, which is good for fourth in the league.
Despite both teams’ records as of late, the Avalanche are actually favored to win against the Maple Leafs with -120 odds.
Toronto, meanwhile, has an even +100 odds of taking home two points against the Avalanche.
Colorado has been one of the best teams in the league at defending home ice, after all, owning a league-best 22-5-0 home record.
Toronto is also one of the best teams in the NHL on the road, owning the third-best record in the league away from home at 17-6-6.
Auston Matthews has been a big reason why the Maple Leafs have been so hot as of late.
He leads the NHL with an absurd 12 goals in nine games to start the month of February.
Nobody else has more than eight in that span.
Mathews leads the NHL in goals in general with 52 through 55 games this season.
Nobody else has more than 39.
Matthews has -130 odds to score a goal on Saturday, which seems like a slam dunk at this point.
Bobby McMann has also been on a tear since the start of February, scoring seven goals and 10 points in nine games.
He has +500 odds to score a goal in Denver.
As for the Avalanche, Mikko Rantanen has 29 goals this season, which is good for second on the team in goals.
He has an even +100 odds to score a goal against the Maple Leafs.
With how potent the Maple Leafs have been offensively, the over could be a good bet as well.
The Over/Under for Saturday night’s game is 6.5, which has -145 odds of hitting.
The under, meanwhile, has 110 odds of hitting.
A bet on the Avalanche to win, Matthews and Rantanen to score, and the over to hit has +575 odds of hitting, meaning a $10 bet will net you $67.50.
If you add a tally from McMann, the odds go up to +3500, meaning a $10 bet will net you $360 odds.
Whatever you do to go with your Saturday night hockey action, we hope you bet responsibly and have fun.
