The Avalanche signed prospect forward Nikita Prischepov to a three-year entry-level contract on Sunday.

Prischepov, 20, was taken No. 217 overall by the Avs in this past summer’s 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The native of Orenburg, Russia, was coming off a breakout season in the QMJHL where he posted career-highs across the board in goals (22), assists (45), and points (67) in 63 games with the Victoriaville Tigres.

He was the 188th-ranked North American skater according to the NHL Central Scouting’s ranking for the 2024 NHL Draft.

Prischepov was a surprise at training camp and seemed to fit well into Colorado’s system. While he isn’t expected to get NHL time this year, he did give the team a glimpse of what he could develop into. Prischepov spent most of the camp on a line with fellow AHLers T.J. Tynan and Matthew Phillips. That line will be one to watch with the Colorado Eagles if they remain together in the AHL.
