It has been a crazy week-long stretch for Ben Meyers.

The Minnesota Gophers’ junior forward, a Hobey Baker Award finalist and Big Ten player of the Year, coped with the disappointment of a 5-1 loss to Minnesota State in the Frozen Four semifinals at Boston, then had his choice of NHL offers as an undrafted unrestricted free agent — and signed on with the Avalanche.
