Avalanche vs. Blues, Game 48: Lines, Notes & How to Watch

Avalanche Blues

Last game before the All-Star break. For the Colorado Avalanche, can’t hold anything back.

Two days after a tough loss to the lowly Anaheim Ducks, the Avalanche will take on the St. Louis Blues. It’s the final game for the Avalanche before their bye week, that leads into the All-Star break. Mikko Rantanen led the way with two goals against the Ducks, and Matt Nieto made his season debut with the Avalanche after being acquired from San Jose.

There’s a chance the Avalanche will be able to play with 12 natural forwards. Valeri Nichushkin, who missed Thursday’s game with an upper body injury, is listed as questionable. The Avalanche are 15-3-2 when Nichushkin is in the lineup.

The playoff hopes for the Blues are slipping away, and they may be sellers at the trade deadline at this rate. They currently sit eight points out of a playoff spot. They will be without forwards Ryan O’Reilly and Pavel Buchnevich due to injury.

This will be the third meeting between the two teams this season.
