What about Joe Pavelski as an Avalanche free-agent signing?

Hmm, been thinking about this one a lot today. What about Joe Pavelski as a one- or two-year fill in as Avs No. 2 center, while their No. 4 overall pick on Friday develops (let’s assume I’m talking about a forward that they draft at that spot)?

Joe Pavelski as an Av. I like the look and sound of that on one hand. On the other, I think “No, too old, will cost too much, free agents almost never work out in the end.”
