The hockey world was stunned the other night by the Jay Bouwmeester cardiac incident in Anaheim that sent him to the hospital and postponed the Blues’ game with the Ducks. Also in the daily links, NHL trade rumors, reports and Bruins-Habs hate.

Avs prospect Alex Newhook named Co-Rookie of the Week in Hockey East, for Boston College (Mile High Sticking). The kid is going to be a player for the Avs, I have no doubt. He won’t play with the Avs next year, though. The plan is to give him one more year in college, then bring him up to the big club and/or give him some seasoning in the minors.
