Avalanche lines and D pairs for game against Capitals; Philipp Grubauer in net again

Published

on

Greetings from the Pepsi Center, where there was a sizable media contingent on hand for the morning skate, as you can see above. Avs versus Capitals tonight (7:30 start don’t forget, moved from 7 and, yes, the game is on NBCSN) but a lot of NHL media personnel are here already for the Stadium Series game Saturday night.

Philipp Grubauer gets another start in net for the Avs, against his former team.

The lines and D pairs look like this:

Burakovsky-MacKinnon-Rantanen

Landeskog-Compher-Donskoi

Nichushkin-Bellemare-Calvert

Jost-Kamenev-Nieto

D

Graves-Makar

Girard-Johnson

Zadorov-Cole

NOTEBOOK

Nazem Kadri was at the rink, on crutches and with a boot on his right foot. … Peter Forsberg was at the rink too. He even took a ride on the Zamboni. Foppa is in town for the next few days. … Mark Barberio is back with the Avs, after that conditioning assignment with the Eagles. … Avs have outscored opponents 18-5 in the last five games. … Avs are the highest-scoring team in the league, averaging 3.64 goals per game. Washington is second at 3.55. … Avs are 16-5-3 against Eastern Conference teams.

How about two minutes with Gabe Landeskog before I say goodbye for now?
