Philipp Grubauer

AIR FORCE ACADEMY – Avalanche goalie Philipp Grubauer suffered some kind of lower-body injury early in the third period of tonight’s Stadium Series game with the Los Angeles Kings, and had to leave the game.

With 2:23 gone in the third period, Grubauer was hurt when he was run into by Avalanche teammate Ian Cole, who was trying to check Kings forward Austin Wagner on a walk-in scoring chance. Cole backed into Grubauer on the follow through trying to check Wagner, and Grubauer appeared to twist something with a leg/lower-body-part. Grubauer was also bumped into the head by Cole.

Pavel Francouz relieved Grubauer, who walked to the locker room under his own power.

We’ll update this when more details are known…
