Martin Kaut ready for the challenge

Published

on

Ready or not kid, here you go.

Martin Kaut was just doing his thing Monday night at about 10:30, on his PlayStation 4 when the phone rang. It was his coach with the Colorado Eagles, Greg Cronin, telling him to get ready for a drive to Denver in the morning. The offices of the Colorado Avalanche would be his final destination. Wednesday night, he will suit up for theĀ  Avs in his first career NHL game.

Just like that.

“It’s amazing for me. I’m super-excited,” Kaut said Tuesday afternoon, after an optional Avs practice that saw few players participate. “I started the season with no points in his first 10 games (for the Colorado Eagles) and I was pretty frustrated. But lately I’ve played much better, and maybe that’s why I’m here.”
