Avalanche Reverse Retro Jersey schedule is here

For the last few seasons, figuring out what the Avalanche were going to wear each game day was fairly simple. Burgundy and blue for most home games, navy alternates for division opponents, with the occasional home uniform on the road. However, if you’re someone who likes to match the Avs every single game day (like me, a member of Uniform Addiction Anonymous), fret not! The Avs have finally released their uniform schedule, including the Reverse Retro jersey that has taken the NHL uniform community by storm, so you’ll know just what jersey to wear and when to wear it.

When We’ll See Those Beautiful Reverse Retros

It’s a shame that the NHL placed limits on how many times certain jerseys can be worn on the ice during the season, because the Reverse Retro sweaters the Avs are sporting are — for lack of a more suitable word: magnifique.

The Avalanche will wear their Nordiques Reverse Retros six times this season. Unfortunately, for everyone excited to see them in action, you’re going to have to wait nearly an entire month. The sweaters won’t make their debut until Feb. 20, against the Vegas Golden Knights at the NHL Outdoors game on a golf course on Lake Tahoe.

The full uniform combo will feature the white helmets, burgundy gloves with a white cuff, and burgundy pants with two vertical white stripes down the middle. Expect the socks to be white with two horizontal burgundy stripes on them.

Bring On the Thirds

For the past few seasons, Colorado has reserved their navy alternates for when the team is playing against Central Division opponents. Although the divisions are all sorts of split up for this season, the Avs are going to stick to that same centralized theme (pun intended).

There is one little modification to the third jerseys this year, though. This season, the third jersey’s pants will have a singular, thick white stripe down the middle with a white band on the base of the pants.
