avalanche flyers

The Philadephia Flyers fired their coach, Alain Vigneault, today, so the Avs will see Mike Yeo behind the bench. Yeo, twice fired himself (Minnesota, St. Louis) in his coach career, gets job number three. The coaching carousel just keeps shuffling the same old names around.

Some lineup news for the Avs against the Flyers:

The Avs announced this morning that both Cale Makar and Nazem Kadri will return to the lineup after each missing one game, and that rookie Justus Annunen will start in goal. I’m hearing that Darcy Kuemper could return by Wednesday’s game in New York against the Rangers.

So, this looks like your lineup for tonight:

Landeskog-MacKinnon-Rantanen

Nichushkin-Kadri-Burakovsky

O’Connor-Newhook-Kubel

Helm-Jost-Megna

D

Toews-Makar

Girard-E. Johnson

J. Johnson-MacDermid

Annunen

NOTEBOOK: I expect Kuemper and Pavel Francouz to be the 1-2 combo in net again when the Avs return from this road trip. … Avs are -195 favorites to win the game, at SuperBook Colorado. … Remember Vladislav Kamenev? He has 12 points in 18 games this season for CSKA of the KHL. The Avs still own his NHL rights. … My NHL 3 Best Bets for tonight, which includes a Flyers-Avs pick. … Yes, Kurtis MacDermid is in tonight, while Jacob MacDonald is a healthy scratch. … I’m hearing that there is a slight chance J.T. Compher could play Wednesday in New York, but it’s more likely he’ll play during the next homestand.
