Just posted on the AHL transactions log: Dylan Sikura has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles by the Avalanche, and will join the club for its flight to Chicago later this afternoon. This is a pretty big sign that Nathan MacKinnon won’t play against the Blackhawks.

Sikura, a 2014 sixth-round draft choice of Chicago, is the leading scorer on the Eagles, with 14 goals and 31 points in 29 games. Listed at 5-11, 170, he plays right wing normally.

Sikura played one game for the Avs earlier this season, and has 54 career NHL games, with Chicago, Vegas and Colorado.

After last night’s game, Avs coach Jared Bednar said “I don’t think so” when asked if MacKinnon would be available for the team’s next game in Chicago. There has been no further word today on his condition. He suffered what appeared to at least be a broken nose after colliding with Boston Bruins forward Taylor Hall in the first period.
