DATER: Another Blown Game 5 At Home, Another Avalanche Letdown (+)
I feel like Al Pacino from the Godfather III when he says something like “Just when I thought I was out, they keep dragging me back in.” Except, for me, it’s in reverse with the Avalanche. Just when I really wanted to believe in this team, they blow another big home playoff game and make me feel stupid for totally buying in.
Look, the Avalanche still have two games to win one. The odds are still in their favor. Home teams win Game 7s about 75 percent of the time.
But, man, talk about an absolute letdown tonight. Everybody in this town was just waiting. Waiting…to let loose with a thunderous celebration. Police were stationed all around town at the ready, streets were about ready to be blocked off and the fireworks from the city of Denver were about to go off.
