Hello Evan Rawal! New Era of Avalanche Coverage at Colorado Hockey Now

Welcome to the new era of Colorado Avalanche coverage at Colorado Hockey Now!

For many of you, I may be a new face, but for a lot of you, I should be a pretty familiar one.

While I do not officially start with CHN until Jan. 1, 2023, I’ll be covering the Avalanche this week while I train with the folks at National Hockey Now. It’s been a whirlwind, but we’re only looking forward.

I have been covering the Colorado Avalanche on a daily basis with DNVR since 2019, with stints with Mile High Sports and BSN (former DNVR). I’d like to thank those folks for recommending me for the job and for their gracious support.

Covering the Avalanche will be nothing new to me. Leading a site and staff? That will be, and I’m excited to get started.

I’m a Colorado native, which is becoming rarer and rarer in the area these days. I have a beautiful wife and a 5-year-old daughter, who are my life away from hockey, but hockey has been a big part of my life for over 30 years now. I grew up playing in the local Foothills organization before moving on to the Colorado Rampage AAA program and dabbling in some Junior hockey.

Hockey is in my blood, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring everyone the in-depth coverage they deserve.

I have big plans moving forward with the site. The news you expect will be there, whether it’s breaking news, game stories, locker room reports, and updates from practice, but I plan to dig deep to analyze it all. I will also be in the locker room personally, getting the inside scoop from the players themselves.

This is a new and exciting opportunity, and I couldn’t be happier to get going. I want to thank DNVR, specifically AJ Haefele for giving me an opportunity over the last few years, and Dan Kingerski for trusting me to represent Colorado Hockey Now.

Now the fun begins.

Thank you!
