The Avalanche were hit and miss in their games during the week, and the updates on Gabriel Landeskog have some people worried.

On the ice, the Avalanche took care of business against some bottom-dwelling teams, but struggled against a few teams they might face in the playoffs.

Off the ice, Landeskog’s injury status ruled the news, as we got further updates on what’s going on with him. I also spoke to some of Nathan MacKinnon’s teammates about just how hard it was to play against him.

Let’s take a look back at the past week for the team.

Monday

Against the Kraken, Alexandar Georgiev bounced back in the loss.

In our CHN mailbag, a lot of questions revolved around the Captain. In addition, people were still not happy with the trade deadline moves.

In the Turning Point, I broke down why Rantanen got so upset. The next day, he said that my theory was correct.

Tuesday

Rantanen discussed his tough weekend, and Erik Johnson hit the ice before morning skate.

That night, the Avalanche destroyed the San Jose Sharks.

After the win, Bednar talked about Lehkonen’s hard work and why he loves using him with skilled players.

Wednesday

Andrew Cogliano played his 1,200th career game against the Sharks.

Lehkonen‘s work on the forecheck set up Makar’s goal against San Jose.

At an optional skate, Bednar admitted he’s a “little bit concerned” about the long-term health of Gabriel Landeskog, but they won’t know until everything plays out.

Thursday

The Avalanche were outplayed in the tough areas in a loss to the Los Angeles Kings.

Nathan MacKinnon didn’t think they had much to learn from the loss to the Kings, but Makar disagreed.

The top four defensemen on the team did not play well against the Kings.

Jared Bednar has admitted that the regular season has been a “mental grind.” Are the Avalanche bored of regular season hockey after winning the Stanley Cup?

More information came out about Landeskog’s injury timeline, but the news was good for Erik Johnson.

Saturday

In Russia, Nikolai Kovalenko is crushing it in the KHL playoffs.

Against the Coyotes, Georgiev made a ridiculous skate save on Dauphin.

It took longer than they had hoped, but the Avalanche eventually beat the Coyotes in overtime.

Cale Makar discussed his record breaking overtime winner.

Sunday

Lars Eller played his best game in an Avalanche uniform in the win on Saturday.

I talked to five of Nathan MacKinnon’s current teammates, and asked them: What is it like to have to defend Nathan MacKinnon in a game?
