Erik Karlsson nhl trade

The buy out window for the NHL just opened, and the Vancouver Canucks wasted very little time taking advantage of it, buying out Oliver Ekman-Larsson just one day into the window. And after trying to move him at the trade deadline, it appears the San Jose Sharks are going to continue trying to trade Erik Karlsson to a playoff team.

For the Colorado Avalanche, we spoke to the Director of Scouting for Hockey Prospect on the draft itself, and got some names to keep an eye on for the Avalanche.

All that and more in this Saturday edition of Evan’s Daily.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Director of Scouting for Hockey Prospect talked to me for a while about the NHL Draft, scouting, how the Avalanche should approach pick 27, and more. You can read the interview right here.

Interested in some names to look for at 27th overall? Here’s a few from the same scout.

On Saturday, we’ll take a look at the potential trade fit for a winger from the Devils in Colorado.

NHL Offseason

They tried to move him at the trade deadline, but it appears the San Jose Sharks will keep trying to get Erik Karlsson to a playoff team this summer. It’ll be difficult to move him given his contract, and it sounds like it would require the Sharks to retain a good bit of his current contract.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson was once a top defenseman in the NHL, but those days are long over, and on Friday, the Canucks made the decision to buy out the remainder of his contract.

New Jersey: The Devils winger that may fit in Colorado? Yegor Sharangovich. It sounds like the Devils are getting calls on him and a trade is possible.

Boston: Patrice Bergeron is all class, and he pushed for the Golden Knights to hire Bruce Cassidy after the Bruins let him go last summer.

Montreal: Sean Monahan might make sense for the Avalanche this summer, but the Canadiens appear interested in bringing him back.

Chicago: The Blackhawks know they’ll likely be bad again, and could take on some bad contracts to gain some assets.
