Debrincat NHL Avalanche

For weeks, we heard Alex DeBrincat was going to be traded around the NHL Draft. Well, it took a little longer than expected, but he finally got dealt on Sunday afternoon. And is Connor Hellebuyck the next guy to finally get moved?

With the Avalanche, we took a look back at the chaotic prior two weeks.

All that and more in this Monday edition of Evan’s NHL Daily.

Colorado Hockey Now

We didn’t do a wrap-up last week because of how crazy things were, so this week’s Avalanche wrap covers the past two weeks, including the NHL draft, free agency, and some of the trades the team made.

On Monday, the Jeremy Hanzel story should be ready, and we’ll start taking questions for a new mailbag. Feel free to share any questions you might have in the comments.

NHL Trade Chatter

It finally happened. Alex DeBrincat has been moved to the Detroit Red Wings, and it didn’t cost them a whole lot. The 25-year old winger didn’t get the contract he was looking for a month ago, but he’s got a new home. He does add some high-level skill to a Detroit team that’s been adding a lot of players that won’t necessarily push a team over the top.

Now the question is…who is next to go? Kevin Weekes hinted that Hellebuyck might be next, as he’s already made it very clear he’s not re-signing with the Winnipeg Jets. There’s only a few teams that could even sign him long-term if they wanted to.
