First Look At Miles Wood In Avalanche Colors

Avalanche Miles Wood

Miles Wood hasn’t shown up in Colorado yet for the voluntary Captain’s skates, but he’s already rocking his Avalanche gear while skating on his own.

On Tuesday, the newest Avalanche forward shared a photo on social media that gave fans a small glimpse of what he’ll look like in Avalanche colors.

Looks pretty good, doesn’t he?

Wood, who signed a 6-year contract with the Avalanche on the first day of free agency, told the media he’d probably arrive in town around Labor Day when he spoke to the media back in July. That’s normal, as most players start trickling into town around that time.

The soon-to-be 28 year old forward is coming off a 13 goal, 27 point season with the New Jersey Devils, and given the commitment the team made to him, the Avalanche would probably like to see slightly better numbers than that. I spoke to someone who works for an Eastern Conference team who thinks he’ll be just fine with the Avalanche, and should have that up on CHN here in the next few days.

I made it pretty clear earlier this month that I think he’ll be a fit in Colorado, but he’ll probably frustrate people with parts of his game. You can check out his film room below.

I haven’t started checking things out at Family Sports Center, simply because so few players are in town, but will likely do so around Labor Day. When I do, I’ll have photos and video of everyone up on CHN for all to see.
