Nathan MacKinnon is the hottest player in the NHL at the moment, and in the first period of Thursday night’s game, he hit another career milestone.

With his second goal of the period, MacKinnon hit 300 on his career. The 28 year old center scored twice in the first period, accounting for all of the offense from the Colorado Avalanche, but it was his second of the night that got him to the career milestone.

With two points in the first period, the Avalanche superstar also extended his point streak to 17 games. That ties William Nylander for the longest in the NHL this season. He also has picked up a point in every single home game this season at Ball Arena.

After a slower start to the year, in terms of his play, he’s been an unstoppable force and has kept the Avalanche in the Central Division race for at least a month now. Colorado fans are lucky to get to watch a guy like this on a nightly basis.
