Avalanche Captain To Appear In Upcoming NHL Docuseries
There will be at least one Colorado Avalanche player in the upcoming NHL docuseries set to debut on Amazon Prime Video sometime in the future. Could there be another?
Gabriel Landeskog, Colorado’s Captain, was one of the 11 players confirmed to make an appearance in the series. I would have to imagine it’s a pretty big role if he has been named as one of the headliners, but we will see when it eventually debuts. During the playoffs, cameras were following Landeskog while he was on the ice, tracking his every move. That likely continued off the ice.

Here is some more information on the NHL docuseries and who else is confirmed to be involved…
“The series will feature in-depth interviews with key players, their rivals and those in their closest inner circle – teammates, coaches, and family. The series will also reveal what life on-and-off the ice is really like for the leagueโs top players. From the quiet reflective moments to the speed and intensity of being on hockeyโs biggest stage โ revealing the talent, grit, and sacrifice it takes to make it in the NHL. Superstar players followed in the series include Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid; Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk; New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba; Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl; Boston Bruins teammates David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman; Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes; Vegas Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel; Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander; Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg; and Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog, among others.”
There does not appear to be a set premier date for the show. Here’s a trailer for the show, which doesn’t even have a name at this point.
You might be wondering – where is Nathan MacKinnon? Back in April before the playoffs even started, there was a very large camera crew following around the Avalanche superstar. It’s possible they didn’t like the footage they got, but it does say “among others” when talking about the show, so there’s a chance he still makes an appearance.

It will be fascinating to see what perspective they get from Landeskog, who hasn’t played an NHL game in nearly two years. I imagine a lot of the discussion will be around his rehab and how difficult it has been for him to sit and watch his team lose in the playoffs for the second straight season.
Stay tuned for more information on this show once we get more information on when it may debut.
