Ross Colton to ‘Miss Some Time’ From Lower-Body Injury

Colorado Avalanche forward Ross Colton took a puck to the lower leg in the first period but finished it out. He played a full second period but did not return in the third. He was visibly in pain when he went to the bench but played 7:10 in the first and 7:50 in the second.
“He’s out. He took that shot. He’s going to miss some time but we’ll get a better feel on how long, how much time that’s going to be tomorrow or by Wednesday morning,” head coach Jared Bednar said after the 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
Colton was seen in a walking boot on his way out of the locker room.
In the 15 minutes the 28-year-old forward played, he was a minus-2 and had three shots on goal. He is No. 3 in the league with eight goals in 10 games and has excelled on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen.

On the flip side of losing Colton, Tuesday is Artturi Lehkonen’s evaluation to determine if he’s good to go or not. He has been skating with the team and been physically involved in his time on the ice so could potentially be ready on Wednesday โ but that may be a long shot.
Bednar confirmed after Monday night’s game that Jonathan Drouin remains out but is listed as day-to-day.
