Another Makar is heading to Colorado.

Taylor Makar, the younger brother of Cale, signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Avalanche on Monday following the end of his NCAA season with the University of Maine. The deal is for the 2025-26 season.

Makar, 24, had 18 goals and 30 points in 38 games.

He was tied for first on the team in goals and was second in points. Makar also led the team with six game-winning goals.

Drafted in the seventh round in 2021, Makar will report to the Colorado Eagles on an amateur tryout for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

The forward is 6’4 and 210 lbs. He was a pleasant surprise this past year and could get a good opportunity to continue his development in the AHL.
