Four playoff games, four one-goal games. The Avs and Stars battled for nearly an entire overtime period before the game ended. Also, Gabriel Landeskog is back on the active roster. When is going to play?

All that and more on this edition of Deen’s Daily — April 22.

Colorado Hockey Now

The Avalanche led 1-0 and 3-2 but trailed 2-1 and, eventually, 4-3 after an OT winner from Colin Blackwell to tie the series at 1-1. Catch my full game story here. I’ve also got a great 10 Observations piece coming later this morning. It covers everything surrounding the Gabriel Landeskog whirlwind of a day, as well as a quick 1-on-1 with Miles Wood after the game.

The captain was reactivated from IR on Monday.

Before the game, we caught up with Mikko Rantanen, who held court for the first time in this series. Among the things he spoke about, Rantanen admitted that he watched Gabriel Landeskog’s AHL return on April 11.

Stanley Cup Playoffs Recap

Winnipeg vs St. Louis: In the second meeting between two other Central Division foes, the Jets again came out on top. The game-winner was scored in the third period again, with a final score of 2-1.

Washington vs Montreal: Alex Ovechkin opened the scoring and put an end to the game in OT. In between his two goals, the Caps blew a 2-0 lead to the upstart Habs to set up the first OT game of the playoffs. Washington won 3-2.

Los Angeles vs Edmonton: The Kings led 4-0 and 5-2 but let the Oilers climb all the way back. Edmonton scored at 17:56 and 18:32 of the third period to tie the game at 5-5. However, Phillip Danault wasn’t interested in playing OT. He put a dagger in the Oilers and spoiled their comeback with a game winner at 19:18.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: It doesn’t seem like the Pens are going to make a coaching change. But general manager Kyle Dubas had some pretty choice words about the play of Erik Karlsson this season.

Florida Hockey Now: This is the time of year when Brad Marchand is most effective. It’s why the Panthers acquired him at the trade deadline.

Ottawa Hockey Now: Here’s a full breakdown of all the things that went wrong for the Sens in Game 1.

Vegas Hockey Now: The Knights rarely get called for penalties and are using that to their advantage. Here’s how.
