Colorado Hockey Now
The Avalanche’s media day availability is coming up in just a couple of hours. Colleen Flynn and I have you covered both written and video with quotes from Jared Bednar and basically the entire leadership core of the team. I honestly am so excited for this season to start. It’s finally here. This is the beginning.
The Avs released their training camp roster on Tuesday and it was quite interesting to see that they opted to not invite anyone on a PTO this year. I honestly think it’s for the better. They have most of the roster already figured out and they have some prospects they want to give a long look to. There’s no reason to impeded their ability to play for ice time with another veteran.

I’m honestly really curious as to what, exactly, is going on with Jack Roslovic. I don’t remember the last time I saw a notable UFA go this far into the summer without a contract. Roslovic is good enough to play on any team. It’s the role and the money he’s looking for that’s probably holding this back.
As teams announced their camp rosters all throughout the day, I was surprised to not see some sort of announcement of where he’d be starting. Is he going to skip camp entirely? Sign with someone next week? It’s very strange.
We already saw the other notable free agent, Matt Grzelcyk, sign a PTO with the Blackhawks.
